Lamb Of God - Creating Iron Man 2 Song

SEGA has announced that two-time Grammy-nominated metal act Lamb Of God are creating an exclusive song for the upcoming Iron Man 2 video game.

The new song, "Hit the Wall", is described as the perfect complement to the super-powered action found in Iron Man 2: The Videogame.

"The music of Lamb of God definitely evokes the intensity of Iron Man action, and we are very excited to have them working with us for the game," said Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America. "This new track will add even more atmosphere to the cinematic gaming experience that Iron Man 2 brings to the table."

"Working on a piece of music specifically for the Iron Man 2 video game was a new challenge for us, said vocalist Randy Blythe. "A few of us are real game and comic fans, so the partnership with SEGA has been really exciting. We can't wait to play the game and hear our music as Iron Man kicks ass."

Iron Man 2: The Videogame will be available in April for Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, Wii and DS.

Children Of Bodom - Drop Off Lamb Of God Tour

Official press release

Award-winning Finnish heavy metal band Children Of Bodom was forced to cancel its remaining live dates as part of the "No Fear Energy Tour" with Lamb Of God due to injuries sustained by guitarist and front man Alexi Laiho. Laiho, 30, broke his shoulder two weeks ago when he was ejected from his tour bus bunk after the vehicle took a sharp turn. Laiho and Children Of Bodom are touring North America in support of the band's critically acclaimed album "Blooddrunk". The axe slinger was recently named as the world's "Best Metal Guitarist" in the 15th annual Guitar World reader's poll.

Against recommendation, Laiho had decided to "bite the bullet" and remain on tour, wearing the arm in a sling to restrict movement at all times when he was not on stage. But after performing ten live dates with both the broken shoulder and internal bleeding, the toll became too much for the guitar hero to endure and Children Of Bodom made the decision to cut its current tour short, placing Laiho's long-term health as its first priority.

"After the New York show (on May 9) I knew it was going to be over," commented Laiho in an official statement. "During the 3rd song I started feeling like someone was stabbing me in my lungs, my heart and my ribs. That was the kind of pain that neither stubbornness, painkillers, nor alcohol could alleviate. I wanted to try to keep going but after seeing a second doctor in Philadelphia, I was basically told that I could fuck myself up for life if I don't stop playing. Against all recommendation, I have played and sang for the last 10 days in violent pain which has only made my condition worsen. So, I decided to listen to everyone around me, who were telling me the best thing to do would be to go home and get some proper rest and give my shoulder some time to heal."

"This was a hard decision for me and I feel bad about it," he continued. "But it is the right thing to do if I want to keep making music. I apologize to our great fans for not being there for the remaining shows and I want to thank all the guys from the other bands; Lamb Of God, As I Lay Dying, God Forbid and Municipal Waste for backing me up on this. Most of all I want to thank our fans for still being there, showing support, and continuing to rock out with me! I promise I will be back and I hope you all will too! Horns up!"

After a few weeks rest, Children Of Bodom will start their European summer festival run on May 30th from Rock Hard Festival 2009 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. All summer festival dates will go down as planned and remain unaffected by Alexi's injury!

Lamb Of God - New Album Details

Lamb Of God will release their fifth studio album "Wrath", on February 24th, 2009. The record will be released in North America by Epic and will be the first release with their new label Roadrunner, outside of North America. "Wrath" is produced by Josh Wilbur and was recorded in studios in New York, Virginia, and New Hampshire.

Lamb Of God finished the touring cycle on the Grammy nominated album "Sacrament" at the end of 2007. The two-year trek was documented in the now certified Gold DVD "Walk with Me in Hell" and culminated with the band headlining arenas across the US last December.

The band has taken the entirety of 2008 off the road to focus on the writing process for "Wrath".

"This album is going to surprise a lot of people," comments drummer Chris Adler. "Typically bands that get to where we are in our career begin to slack off, smell the roses and regurgitate. We chose a different path. No one wants to hear another band member hyping a new record. "Wrath" needs no hype. We have topped ourselves and on February 24th you will feel it."

As always, Lamb Of God will embark on an extensive tour that will cover the globe. As previously announced, the band will be supporting Metallica on the December leg of their tour. The first leg of the "Wrath" world tour will start in Finland on February 6th and will encompass dates in the UK, Australia, and Japan.

Current confirmed dates are:

02/06/09 Frostbite Festival - Finland
02/08/09 Belfast - Mandela Hall
02/09/09 Dublin - Academy
02/11/09 Bristol - Academy
02/12/09 Birmingham - Academy

Lamb Of God - Still Not Welcome In Los Angeles' The Forum

As announced, Lamb Of God are supporting Metallica on some N. American dates. However, a few days ago, Metallica have posted the following report about their tour: "As you may have heard, the owners of the Los Angeles Forum have a little issue with our friends from Lamb Of God, so unfortunately they will not be joining us for the two shows at The Forum on December 17 and 18. That's the bad news... the good news is that our bros in Machine Head are rushing back to the States from Europe to step in on those two nights. And of course no show would be complete without The Sword kicking things off, so they'll be there too."

In 2005, Lamb Of God were famously banned from playing The Forum venue, owned by The Faithful Central Bible Church, because church leaders were offended by the group's previous name "Burn The Priest"... and it seems they still are!

In an April 2005 interview with U-Daily Bulletin, Lamb Of God guitarist Willie Adler stated about the Forum ban: "It is a bit of a letdown, especially since, if they (the church) had done any kind of proper research about us, they would have found that we are no way evil or satanic. It was just a name, that's all. They really had no idea who we are, and I kind of laughed at their closed-mindedness. And taking the good with the bad, by raising such a fuss, they probably turned a lot more people on to us because of it. (...) The really funny thing is, Obituary us Slipknot-headlined show on April 9, 2005 at the Forum], and their music is probably far more evil than their namesake would imply."

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times in a February 2005 interview, Marc Little, chief operating officer for The Faithful Central Bible Church's business dealings, stated about the church's decision to cancel the Lamb Of God concert: "This is a building that is owned by a church, and we are sensitive to our congregation and to our obvious religious beliefs. At the same time, we have to balance that with being a business. This is a band that was formerly known as Burn The Priest, so it's a fair assumption that some of the stuff they are singing may be antithetical to our beliefs."

Lamb Of God - Announce New Album Due February

Lamb Of God have commenced recording on the follow up to 2006's Grammy-nominated "Sacrament". Their new album is scheduled for release in February 2009 and will be produced by Josh Wilbur. Josh Wilbur is well known for his Grammy Award winning work with Steve Earl. The album will be recorded in New York City; Virginia Beach, VA; Richmond, VA; and New Hampshire.

The album will see a North American release on Epic Records with Roadrunner Records handling all NON North American releases.

Band drummer Chris Adler states, "We are excited change things up this time and work with Josh. We've never stayed in one place too long, and the evolution continues. There is an aggressive shift in the material and our approach. The bar has been raised."

Lamb Of God shipped gold with their double DVD "Walk With Me In Hell" and after five weeks are rapidly approaching platinum status.

Following production, Lamb Of God will head out on an extensive world tour commencing with their support slot in December with Metallica.

Lamb Of God - New DVD Announced

US metallers Lamb Of God have issued the following update:

"Lamb Of God are proud to announce the release of an all-new, 2-disc DVD on July 1, 2008. "Walk With Me In Hell" is a documentary chronicling every detail in the lives of the biggest band in metal as they completed recording and toured around the world nearly three times over in support of the biggest selling metal album of 2007, the Grammy-nominated, Top 10 charting, Sacrament.
Fans can check out an Exclusive trailer for "Walk With Me In Hell" at the band's official MySpace page here (or here for a direct link to the trailer).

The "Walk With Me In Hell" two DVD set features over five hours of incredible, all-access footage. Disc 1 contains the highly anticipated feature documentary 'Walk With Me In Hell' and multiple live performance extras from across the globe on the Sacrament World Tour. Disc 2 includes the additional full-length feature "Making of Sacrament" plus Lamb Of God's entire, uncut, brutal performance at the Download Festival 2007, where they performed in front of over 72,000 fans. Extras include deleted scenes, live performance videos for various tour stops, the official music video for "Redneck," and a "Making of Redneck" documentary.

Drummer Chris Adler comments: "We're on stage for 90 minutes a day. People want to know what's going on for the other 22 and 1/2 hours. It's not always limousines and champagne. Killadelphia surprised a lot of people and proved that we refuse to censor or hold anything back. True to the high standard that we hold ourselves to, 'Walk With Me In Hell' is unlike any music DVD I've ever seen. This is an entire new level of documentary taking you on an intense, worldwide journey with us.
"Walk With Me In Hell" features all-access footage from the bus to the stage and everything in between, and like the band's unrelenting music, never lets up. "Walk With Me In Hell" is a very proud moment for us as a band. It's hard to comprehend the pain and glory when you're in the middle of it, but looking back over the past two years we can begin to understand how huge this record and touring cycle was. It shows the blood shed and what it takes to not only hold our own, but succeed in the face of every obstacle in front of us. We have never offered less than our best, our fans expect and deserve it, and this DVD will serve as a landmark for all that follow."
